HB2096 extends the Department of Wildlife Conservation’s Wildlife Diversity Fund and helps stop government waste and protect our farmlands, wildlife habitat, and the state investments in them, for properties that participate in the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation’s wildlife habitat programs.
We were unable to get this bill amended so that it would be heard. Sadly it died in the Senate Revenue & Taxation Committee.
HB2100’s helps stop government waste and protect our farmlands and the state’s investment in them, for properties that participate in the Oklahoma Conservation Commission’s Cost-Share Programs.
If you participate in one of the OCC’s programs, such as Red Cedar Removal, then this bill is for you. Even if you don’t participate, this bill may help protect your neighbors’ land.
Why These Bills Are Important
Farmlands and wildlife habitat are being destroyed across the United States at alarming rates. Citizens from all walks of life are fighting the same battles to save their properties from green energy initiatives to city sprawl.
As we lose farms and wildlife habitat, the less opportunities we have to provide food for our families and communities, making us more reliant upon government. The more reliant we become on the government, the less freedoms we will enjoy. More farmland means more food available for consumers and cheaper prices at the market. More wildlife areas ensure that we are able to pass down our outdoor heritage to our children and grandchildren.
Please contact your state legislators today and ask them to support HB2096 and HB2100.
